Join us on Thursday, November 16th at 5:30pm for an evening of introduction to TMJ & Sleep Therapy Kids to find out how different symptoms can be treated to improve your child’s development and quality of life. In this workshop, Dr. Klauer and Dr. Sahar Hameed, the practice’s newest pediatric provider, will address common concerns surrounding sleep disordered breathing and airway dysfunction in kids.

Sound Familiar?

If your child struggles with any of the following, this event is for you!

  • Daytime Sleepiness
  • Grinding/Clenching
  • Bed Wetting
  • Mouth Breathing
  • Frequent Ear or Throat Infections
  • Tongue-Tie/Lip-Tie
  • Snoring
  • Excessive Nasal Congestion
  • Hyperactivity

We know, we know, you’re probably thinking, “but it’s so cute when they snore,” but did you know it’s never normal and there’s always an underlying reason?

Join us to find out how these symptoms can affect your child’s development into adulthood if not addressed early on. The good news is, if these symptoms are treated in childhood, they can be corrected to avoid much more severe conditions later in life.

About Dr. Sahar

Dr. Sahar joined the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre team in June 2023. She is the primary provider for pediatric patients within the practice treating pediatric airway development and sleep breathing disorders. In her time at the practice, Dr. Sahar’s completed coursework and background includes training from Dr. Klauer himself, Dr. Steven Olmos (TMD & Sleep), Dr. Eric Phelps (Orthodontics), and Dr. Soroush Zaghi (Pediatric Lip & Tongue Tie).

Dr. Sahar was raised in Saudi Arabia by parents who were Pakistani immigrants, working for an American Oil Company. She grew up around 3 distinct cultures and is able to interact pretty comfortably between them. With a passion for helping others at her core, Dr. Sahar knew at a young age that she was destined to be a doctor.

After receiving her Bachelor in Dental Surgery in Pakistan, she moved to Philadelphia to pursue her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD). Shortly after graduating from Temple University, Dr. Sahar and her daughter moved to Fort Wayne where she began her career working exclusively in pediatrics. She quickly found her love for treating kids and was there introduced to the world of TMJ and Sleep.

Her deep passion for learning and education inspired her to pursue continuing education on these disorders; especially in children. In 2021, Dr. Sahar moved to the South Bend area with her husband Jordan and daughter Yumna. She is actively involved in the community and a member of the AAFE, Isaac Knapp Dental Society, NCDS, IDA, and ADA. Outside of the office, Dr. Sahar loves to spend quality time with her family. She enjoys caring for her plants, hiking, cooking/baking, stand-up comedy, board games, and watching her efforts come to fruition (in any aspect of life).
