Medication and surgery aren’t your only options when pain, inflammation and nerve irritation are negatively impacting your quality of life,

At TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre Indiana, we use a wide range of best in class regenerative injections and complementary therapies designed to stimulate your body’s natural healing processes.

These treatments are minimally invasive, safe and often provide relief where standard therapies have failed.

Regenerative Pure Biologic Technology (PRF)

Platelet‑rich fibrin (PRF) accelerates healing and optimizes treatment outcomes by concentrating growth factors from your own blood.

The process is simple: a small sample of blood is drawn, spun in a centrifuge to collect platelets and healing elements, then injected directly into the site of injury to promote tissue repair.

Because PRF uses your own cells, it is biocompatible and carries minimal risk of rejection.

SPG Block

The spheno‑palatine ganglion (SPG) is a nerve cluster behind the nose that can contribute to migraines, facial pain and headaches. Our NO NEEDLE SphenoCath device allows us to deliver a small amount of medication into the nasal passages without needles, providing a fast, simple and nearly painless procedure. Many of our SPG patients experience immediate or rapid relief from debilitating headaches and a decrease in pain frequency and severity.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy involves injecting a small amount of a dextrose‑based solution into damaged ligaments or tendons to trigger a mild inflammatory response. This controlled irritation stimulates collagen production, strengthening the connective tissue and promoting long‑term stability. Our own Dr. Mark Cantieri wrote the medical textbook on prolotherapy, making our centre a trusted resource for this therapy.

These injectable therapies are a key part of our adult care plans. To learn how we use PRF, prolotherapy and nerve blocks to relieve jaw pain, migraines and TMJ disorders, visit our Regenerative Medicine page.

Vitamin D Testing & Supplement Recommendation

Low vitamin D levels can influence pain perception, immune function and overall health. Our providers have been trained by neurologist Dr. Stasha Gominak in evaluating vitamin D status and recommending supplements to optimize sleep and neuromuscular function. Testing and supplementation are quick and non‑invasive.

Botox (including Xeomin)

Botulinum toxin therapy (Botox or Xeomin) is used to relax overactive muscles and ease craniofacial pain. By temporarily decreasing muscle movement, these injections relieve tension in the jaw, neck and facial muscles. We administer precise doses in targeted areas for therapeutic (not cosmetic) purposes.

Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (Alpha‑Stim CES)

Alpha‑Stim cranial electrotherapy delivers a gentle electrical current through ear clips to provide non‑pharmaceutical relief from pain, anxiety and depression. The microcurrent therapy modulates brain activity, promoting relaxation and reducing pain perception. Sessions are short and comfortable, and most patients feel calm and refreshed afterward.

Why We Use These Modalities

We believe in treating the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than masking symptoms. Our regenerative therapies allow us to:

  • Harness your body’s own healing potential (PRF).
  • Provide quick, minimally invasive relief (SPG block, Botox).
  • Strengthen injured tissues and prevent recurrence (prolotherapy).
  • Integrate nutritional factors (vitamin D) and neurophysiology (Alpha‑Stim CES) into your treatment outcomes.

These options align with our philosophy of early treatment, accurate diagnosis and collaboration. We tailor each modality to your unique needs, often combining them with other therapies like TMJ orthotics, sleep appliances, laser therapy & Regenerative Medicine.
