Advanced Diagnostic Technology for Precise TMJ and Sleep Evaluations
At TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre Indiana, we believe that lasting relief from jaw pain, headaches or disrupted sleep begins with accurate diagnosis.
That’s why we invest in state of the art diagnostic tools that let us see, measure and understand what’s happening inside your jaw, airway and joints.

What Our Diagnostic Tools Are and How They Work
We use a suite of complementary technologies to build a complete picture of your oral and airway health:
- Cone Beam CT Imaging (iCAT FLX) – This three‑dimensional scan evaluates your jaw joints, teeth, nasal passages and airway, revealing structural issues that traditional X‑rays can’t show.
- Home Sleep Tests – We offer three FDA‑approved devices – WatchPAT One, MediByte and SleepImage Ring – to measure breathing patterns, oxygen levels and sleep stages in the comfort of your own bed. A board‑certified sleep physician interprets the results, which we then use to tailor therapy and validate outcomes.
- Joint Vibration Analysis – This BioRESEARCH technology electronically records the subtle vibrations of your jaw joints, allowing us to detect dysfunction early and track changes over time.
- Acoustic Pharyngometry & Rhinometry – These tests map the size and collapsibility of your nasal and throat airway, helping us see if and where your airway narrows during breathing.
- Rhinomanometry – This nasal test measures the airflow through the nose helping us understand your current flow rate and resistance.
- Digital Impressions – Instead of messy molds, our digital scanner captures an accurate, three‑dimensional model of your teeth and bite. It’s more comfortable for patients with a gag reflex or limited jaw opening.
Why We Use These Technologies
Precise data leads to better outcomes. Early and accurate diagnosis is at the heart of our practice philosophy: when we know exactly what’s causing your pain or sleep disorder, we can intervene sooner and more effectively. Using multiple diagnostic tools together allows us to pinpoint structural, functional and airway‑related issues. This approach supports our commitment to:
- Early Treatment – Identifying problems sooner helps prevent them from becoming more severe.
- Accurate Diagnosis – We believe 95 percent of effective treatment comes from an accurate diagnosis.
- Collaboration – Our findings guide collaboration with sleep physicians, ENTs, osteopaths and craniofacial pain specialists to create a cohesive care plan.
