Wellness Workshop: Keeping Aging Joints Healthy
Keeping Aging Joints Healthy
Featuring Dr. Mark Cantieri
Join Us for an informational discussion with Dr. Mark Cantieri and Dr. Daniel Klauer. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to have all your joint-related questions answered by our community’s expert!

Dr. Cantieri, founder of Corrective Care, PC, began performing prolotherapy in 1997, noting that osteopathic manipulation, rehabilitative exercises, standard pain control injections, oral medications, and surgery helped far too few of his chronic pain patients. So impressed was he with the results of prolotherapy he began teaching it annually at the University New England to physicians from throughout the country, Europe and Asia.
In 2008, along with co-authors Tom Ravin, M.D. and George Pasquarello, D.O. he published the first medical textbook on prolotherapy since the 1950s, Principles of Prolotherapy. Dr. Cantieri has taught prolotherapy to state, national and international audiences including at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy, Turkish Armed Forces Rehabilitation Center, Ankara, Turkey in May of 2013.

How Important is Joint Health?
A joint is where two or more bones are joined together. Joints can be rigid, like the joints between the bones in your skull, or movable, like knees, hips, and shoulders. Many joints have cartilage on the ends of the bones where they come together. Healthy cartilage helps you move by allowing bones to glide over one another. It also protects bones by preventing them from rubbing against each other.
Keeping your joints healthy will allow you to run, walk, jump, play sports, and do the other things you like to do. Physical activity, a balanced diet, avoiding injuries, and getting plenty of sleep will help you stay healthy and keep your joints healthy too.
The best way to make sure you’re able to stay mobile and do the things you love is to take good care of your joints and bones. Joint health and bone health go hand in hand, and measures to protect these parts of your body often overlap. Here are some simple ways to protect your joints and bones, reduce strain, and improve how you function each day:

Get Moving

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Take your Vitamins

Comfort over Fashion
